Equity & Diversity Policy

Our Equity and Diversity Policy explains our position on ensuring equal access for everyone. It also highlights the ways we are trying to improve the way we address inequalities.

 

We must:

 

  • Insist on fairness, equality of access, recognising inequalities and taking steps to address them
  • Continue to develop our services to ensure that it becomes equally accessible to all members of society whatever their age, ability, gender, race, ethnicitiy, sexual orientation, religious beliefs or socio/economic status
  • Ensure that all of our people can realise their talent and fulfill their potenital
  • Use the power of the outdoors to engage, unite and motivate people, promote social insusion and improve health
  • Empower individual's to challenge discriminatory practice and promote inclusion
  • Adopt, promote and practice the values of Pure Outdoor contained within this policy and mission statement
  • Make adjustments so that participation can be enjoyed, at a level appropriate to ability
  • Provide meaningful and appropriate experiences, which recognise and value the diversity of the participants.
  • Promote and apply the principles and practices of equal opportunities
  • Promote positive images of people representative of society as a whole
  • Involve everyone in meaningful and appropriate activity to ensure a quality experience
  • Help everyone to achieve their full potential

 

Equity and Diversity Action Plan 2021/2022

 

During this coming year we aim to:

 

  • Assess our web presence to ensure we use positive images of people representative of society as a whole
  • Propose a programme to The Pure Outdoor Foundation to set up a scheme to support participants from underrepresented groups through an instructor programme
