Privacy Policy

This privacy policy gives an overview of the information that we will collect from you as a customer, why we collect that information and what we do with it.

In order for us to provide our courses and training we do need to record and store information about you and your booking. As such we have a duty to protect your privacy which is a responsibility that we take very seriously. Throughout our business we take the approach of only collecting the information that we need, storing that information safely only for as long as it is required and then disposing of it in a secure manner.

When you make a booking for any course or activity we will collect contact information including your name, address, email and phone number. This is to allow us to contact you with information that is directly related to your booking and to process payments. The information is stored electronically and is only accessible by staff members who deal with course administration.

On attending a course you will be asked to complete a participation form with an emergency contact name and phone number along with information about any medical conditions that may affect your or the group's safety during the course. This form is held by your instructor for the duration of the course so that they can act appropriately to ensure your safety. At the conclusion of the course the form is stored in a locked filing system which is only accessible by staff members who deal with course administration.

In order to comply with the terms of our insurance we are required to hold your information for a period of six years. After this time electronic records are permanently deleted and participation forms are securely shredded.

We will never contact you for marketing purposes unless you separately subscribe to our mailing list. This can currently be achieved directly via our website or by ticking a consent box on the participation form when attending a course. The mailing list consists of a contact name and email address, is stored electronically and is only accessible by staff members who deal with marketing tasks. You can be removed from the mailing list at any time by choosing the unsubscribe option in any mailing or contacting us directly to request your removal.

Our First Aid and NGB Qualification courses are provided in conjunction with partner companies (Tor Lea Training and Adventure Unlimited respectively), when you place an order for one of these courses we will forward the contact details that you provide to one of these partners. These details will include your name, email, phone number and address and will be used exclusively to contact you with information that is directly related to your booking, they will not be used for marketing or any other purposes. Any further details, including payment arrangements, will be collected and handled directly by our partner company.

During a course it is common practice for photographs to be taken for distribution to course participants and use on social media. We will presume that you do not wish for your photograph to be used in this way unless you give us your explicit consent. There is a tick box to consent to the use of photographs on the participation form. In addition your instructor will ask for your verbal consent at the beginning and end of each course.

We review this privacy policy regularly to ensure that we keep up to date with any changes to our business or legal requirements. If you have any further questions regarding privacy or your personal information then please don't hesitate to contact us and we will be happy to help.
