Peak District Based
The Cave Instructor Certificate (CIC) Scheme is the highest instructing award designed for those involved in introducing others to caving, passing on technical skills to others and coaching in a variety of caves. It allows the holder to instruct/guide caving in all areas of the UK.
These CIC training courses are offered by Phil Baker (Trainer/Assessor for all BCA awards and Chair of BCA CIC panel). Assessments are organised by arrangement. Please get in touch if you are interested in assessment dates as these can be offered but need to be arranged individually
The training course spread over two weekends covers the CIC syllabus, available from the BCA website, and includes all aspects of vertical and horizontal caving, single rope technique, rope rescues, navigation, flooding and hazards, cave formation and coaching skills. The second weekend is usually in Yorkshire (accommodation arranged).
The course date for 2018 is a split weekend course on the 1st-2nd December and 15th-16th December. To book, simply book select the date for 01/12/2018 above.
Candidates are required to hold the LCMLA Level 2 and to register with BCA prior to the course. Details can be found at: www.british-caving.org.uk
