Day 1: Airport transport from the airport to the village of Imlil (1740m). Our shuttle departs at about 8.30pm to tie in with Gatwick and Manchester flight arrivals (19:25pm)
Day 2 to 5: We have several options from here depending on snow conditions. The plan is to access one of the several refuges available for us to then access some of the higher peaks. Of course you will be feeling the altitude in these high mountains, so we will ensure that you have the opportunity for good acclimatisation. Depending on conditions we will either head over to the Lepiney valley before traversing the range to the Toubkal refuge or we will simply use the Toubkal refuge as a base for the whole stay.
You will have the opportunity to recap on some of the essentials prior to departure including:
- Choice and use of equipment for the winter environment
- Movement skills on snow
- Use of the ice axe
- How to fit and use crampons - when to put them on and take them off
Day 6: Walk down from Aremd or the Toubkal Refuge to Imlil, from here we have lunch and aim to get back to Marrakech for early afternoon, this gives us opportunity to get washed, possibly have a Hammam and then go out for dinner in the Djemaa el-Fna square.
Day 7: Another day off in Marrakech, we can give you some guidance as some places to go and see, checkout of the hotel at 2pm. Flights depart at 8pm. There is also an option of a midday flight to London if you are in a rush to get back.
Ice Axe and Crampon hire is available at £50 for the entire trip. Or £20 for an ice axe and £30 for crampons.
