Learn to Navigate, go Scrambling and WildCamp with a 5 day Pure Outdoor Mountain Skills Week which brings together both the NNAS Beginner Navigation Course and the 'Mountain Training' Mountain Skills Course
Over the 5 days we will spend the first 2 days focusing on mountain navigation, taking in some of the Peak Districts finest tops along the way. These 2 days will end up being the equivalent of the Bronze/BeginnerNavigationCourse.
The third day is committed to looking at the skills reqired for Mountain Scrambling (up to Grade 1) and can be seen as an introduction to keeping safe on steeper and more technical ground. This will be based in North Wales and transport is included should you require.
We will then spend the remaining 2 days looking at Wild Camping and going on a Mountain Journey, the equipment required and the best way to keep savvy in the mountains on overnight journeys. This also provides us with the perfect opportunity to practice some NightNavigation. The final evening is spend wild camping so you do not need any further accommodation to be booked.
This course is the 'Mountain Training' Mountain Skills Course and pre-registration is required with the Mountain Training Board (£20). Register Here.
This course is ideal for complete beginners. It is also a good grounding for anyone looking to gain pre-requiste experience before attending a MountainLeader Training Course. The course is suitable for anyone over the age of 18, there is no maximum age and we regularly get a mixture of ages and experience and are used to tailoring the course to meet the needs of a varied group of people.
