Come on a rock climbing course with Pure Outdoor. This course is the progression from the Beginner course and would suit those who have climbed indoors and perhaps have tried outdoor climbing and want to progress.

On the highly accessible gritstone crags of the Peak District this course aims to get you climbing confidently while teaching the essential skills of rope work, belaying and using the technical equipment required for trad and sport climbing. We hope to take in some of the Peak District's many and varied routes to build fundamental climbing skills for the future. With some of the most famous venues in the country there is a good chance you could find yourself at Stanage Edge, Froggatt Edge and Burbage Edge amongst many others.

During this course you will build on the beginner course which covered the fundamentals of rock climbing including how to use the essential equipment, footwear, basic climbing moves, abseiling, belaying, about rock types and how to use guidebooks.

We will focus on seconding routes, placing and removing equipment and some basic rigging systems.

It is designed for people with some experience rock climbing and for those who can confidently belay. If you are looking for a course where you can focus on becoming a lead climber outdoors or looking at some more rope techniques, have a look at our lower ratio 2 day Advanced Navigation Course or Learn to Lead Courses.
