This Outdoor Rock Climbing Taster is an ideal starting point for those with little or no prior experience of rock climbing. The Peak District contains some of the best and most accessible rock climbing in the UK which means our experienced instructors can always find the right location and level of challenge for you. Whether you are nervous about heights or are looking to push your mental and physical limits you will be encouraged and coached throughout the day to allow you to achieve more than you would have thought possible.
After a short session where you will learn everything you need to climb safely the rest of the day is used to provide as much hands on experience of climbing as possible. Now the focus is on increasingconfidence and providing practical advice on how to climb effectively and efficiently. This course is therefore just as suitable for complete beginners who have never climbed before as it is for those who have previously climbed indoors and are looking to refresh their skills or get a taste of climbing on real rock.

We are proud to announce that our new premesis 'The Adventure Hub' has an indoor climbing wall and bouldering wall facility along with a rope rigging skills and training area. Of course, we are excited to take you climbing outside on real rock, but for those multiple rainy days when we have exhausted our selection of sheltered crags, it's a great facility to come back to and exclusive to Pure Outdoor
Our climbing courses are based from The Adventure Hub in the Bamford and include complimentary hot drinks and free parking.
If you have your own climbing shoes then it is sensible to bring them. Alternatively we have shoes that can be hired for the day if required. Please bring suitable clothing that will keep you warm and dry in most weathers and some sturdy footwear for walking to and from the climbing areas. Bring a packed lunch.
If necessary it is possible to travel up to the course on a weekend by getting an early train on Saturday morning - more info on our FAQ.
