Steall Falls And Oui Oui

08/12/2010

Posted By Guy Wilson

Plans for this week didnt work out in the Peak District due to the snowverload, so up to Scotland for a few days. Amazing day out today with Dave Chapman.

We started at Steall Falls which was in nice condition and this provided us with some entertainment for a few pitches of straight forward climbing. We then umm'd and arr'd a little but decided to nip over for a look at Oui Oui on Creag Dubh. It looked quite thin and wet but we decided to go for it. Dave pulled off a nice lead and infact the ice was a lot better than it looked. Top climb, short lived and fun. It certainly wasn't grade II/III as we took the left side of the falls and not the ramp. Goes at more like grade 4/5, but very short lived.

Who knows what the rest of the week will bring!
