Accommodation Information

We have tried to make some good links with local B&B's, Guesthouses and Campsites to give you comprehensive choice when booking accommodation to coincide with your Pure Outdoor course.
This section has been broken down into two sections. Those travelling up on Public Transport and staying in the Hathersage area (we recommend this as it has a direct rail link with Sheffield and Manchester and your course instructor can come pick you up on the morning of the course) and a section for those of you who will be driving up to the course who have a little more freedom.

Right way in a day course
I went on the 'right way in a day' course to learn the basics of navigation. The day was very informative but not in an in your face way. Very well presented and done in an easy to understand manner. Hardly any classroom tuition meant that you got straight out on the walk and learnt along the way. Great course for complete navigation novices.

Grand day out
What a great day, Gerald was great going at the right pace for me and very happy to go over things a few times if not picked up first time. The whole day was very informative and I learnt a great deal and now have the skills and confidence to navigate. Think I will do the silver course now.

Review
Great day with Guy. Very informative with lots of opportunity to practice the techniques being taught. And a terrific day's walking in some stunning Peak District scenery. Pure Outdoor seems a very well run company with an excellent website. The approach throughout is very relaxed. Chris Dent.

Right Way in a Day Navigation Course
Thank you for a most enjoyable day. For the first time in my life I now have a better idea on how to use a compass instead of just looking at it and thinking it really must be a useful piece of equipment! I was impressed with your intuitive awareness of all course members, skilfully pitching the learning outcomes appropriately. I was a little apprehensive prior to attending this course wondering if the day would be too strenuous for a middle aged, albeit reasonably fit 'wrinkly'. I soon found my fears to be unfounded and I was particularly impressed with your consideration for all members of the group. I wish you every success for the future.

What a great course. Guy taught us the basics of map reading and we found it so enlightening and we will definitely be able to put our newly acquired knowledge to good use when out walking. We found the whole day really enjoyable and can highly recommend it.
