Summary
Come join us on our 5* Tripadvisor rated Outdoor First Aid Courses based at our dedicated training centre in the heart of the Peak District. The Pure Outdoor instructor on this course is not only a first class teacher but also a moderator for the First Aid courses nationwide.
These Outdoor First Aid courses are designed for anyone who may have to administer first aid in a remote environment. It covers the requirements of all of the outdoor national governing body awards making you advanced at the basics and skillful at techniques.
Providing additional knowledge and developing relevant understanding, it builds upon previous knowledge enhancing casualty monitoring skills and extending incident management skills.
Pure Outdoor provides courses that are suitable for all outdoor activities whether recreational or work related. These courses are delivered by an HSE approved ITC First Aid provider.
The Outdoor First Aid course is to be found on the National Qualifications Framework accredited by ITC who are an Awarding Body approved by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority QCA

Equipment Required
Please bring a packed lunch on both days. On the second day you will need to ensure that you bring suitable clothing for the outdoor environment and all weather conditions. You may be lying down/rolling around on the ground so please bring old kit.

Experienced professional trainers with an active professional interest in First Aid training. The trainers delivering this course will typically have a professional background in outdoor developmental work or be active practitioners in their own leisure time , with experience and commitment to working with groups in the outdoor environment. Many trainers of this course also have a 'hands on' casualty handling background; eg. paramedic, mountain/cave rescue or event First Aider.

This course is non-residential, so if you do not live locally, you may need to arrange your own accommodation.
We have tried to make some good links with local B&B's, Guesthouses and Campsites to give you comprehensive choice when booking accommodation to coincide with your Pure Outdoor course.
This section has been broken down into two sections. Those travelling up on Public Transport and staying in the Hathersage area (we recommend this as it has a direct rail link with Sheffield and Manchester and your course instructor can come pick you up on the morning of the course) and a section for those of you who will be driving up to the course who have a little more freedom.
The Pure Outdoor Training centre is about 4 miles from Hathersage and Bakewell and only a mile or so from the villages of Eyam and Calver.

The Peak District Training Centre
We are based at the Rock Mill Business park which is immediately on the A623 between Sheffield/Chesterfield and Manchester. The centre is within 15 minutes drive from Sheffield and Chesterfield and can be reached in 30 minutes from Manchester.?If you are coming from Sheffield/Chesterfield Direction, drive through the village of Stoney Middleton, when you exit the village the business park is on the left after a few hundred metres. The office is in Unit 3 and can be found in the tallest building at the business park.

Start and Finish Times
The Training Centre will be open from 9am for those wanting to come in, look around and help themselves to refreshments (tea, coffee etc.). The course will commence at 9:30am. The courses generally finish at approximately 4.30pm.
Local Accommodation (If required)
There are many different options for accommodation in the local area. Here we have listed two main options. Those who have their own transport and for those who are using public transport.

For those of you wishing to use public transport, Manchester and Sheffield stations connect to Hathersage in the Peak District, which is a short train ride away. Transport:
For those arriving by car, there is ample car parking at the training centre. Many courses run directly from the centre and some are a short drive away. Most of the time you can leave your vehicle at the centre for the day. For those arriving by train, we are more than happy to pick you up from your accommodation and drop you off at the end of the day. Please be in touch if this is necessary so we can book it in.

Outstanding
Needed (or felt I needed) this qualification as I spend a lot of time outside, often far away from immediate help if anything goes wrong. This course built up gently, taught me the techniques to deal with many different scenarios in the comfort of the classroom, then creating realism by adding stress and environmental pressure by doing exercises outside. Professionally taught, well-balanced information. I feel as confident as I ever will to deal with what's thrown at me. Highly recommended.

First choice for First Aid course
Having already attended a different disciplined course (navigation) with these guys I knew the standard would be very high indeed. I was not disappointed in the least. I had absolutely no medical knowledge whatsoever prior to this course but now feel very capable if I ever needed to be involved in a first aider required situation.The course content was immense and yet was delivered in such a structered, practical and demonstrative way that it all flowed in a logical and easy to follow manner. This is a real hands on course that was delivered by a consummate professional and I cannot recommend it highly enough..

First Aid Course
Probably the best first aid course I've been on. The instructor kept us engaged,challenging us, putting pressure on us like you would have in real situation. The role play defiantly helped solidify all the conceptions and how to apply them in different ways. The course was structured so you build a foundation at the beginning and kept adding to that foundation, so by the end the 3 most important parts of First Aid where very well practised. This was achieved by practising the basic skills every time new skills where added. I feel a lot more confident that ill be able to actually make a difference in the event of an emergency. Thanks for a great experience Pure Outdoor.
