About Pure Outdoor
Pure Outdoor is a redesigned and expanded version of NavTraining.co.uk which was founded in 2005 and has carried out many navigation courses throughout the UK, not to mention custom courses, winter courses, climbing sessions and group sessions.
The aim is to provide high quality, low instructor/client ratio courses which are accessible to all.
This has been achieved by keeping the whole operation small. infact, if you write an email, I will reply to it. If you ring, it will be me on the phone. Oh.... and if you attend a course, I will be running it. If you like the course, maybe you will come on another one.... if you don't like the style in which it is carried out - let me know and I can change things! I like to keep things casual and flexible - this is refelcted in the relaxed nature of all courses offered here at Pure Outdoor.
Course Director:: Guy Wilson
Guy is an experienced outdoor enthusiast spending all of his free time in the British Mountains and the European Alps. He has a degree in Industrial Design & Technology from Loughborough University and since qualifying as a teacher in 2007 has had a career change and has chosen to spend more time in the mountains. He currently lives between Chamonix in the French Alps and the UK, depending on the season. When not working in the outdoors, Guy manages to get out most days, climbing, walking, trekking etc. Check the blog for recent adventures!
Guy is a qualified Summer Mountain Leader, Winter Mountain Leader, NNAS Course Provider, Single Pitch Award holder and MIA (Mountaineering Instructor) (NGB Awards) allowing him to take parties into the mountains to walk and climb in a professional nature. He has professional liability insurance for all activities outlined in the courses. Guy has completed all necessary First Aid Training for operating in a mountainous environment and is a member of the British Mountain Leader Association and Full member of the Association of Mountaineering Instructors (AMI).
