A Dream of White Horses :: HVS 5A
Course Type: Guiding/Instruction
Pre Requisites: Minimum 2 days prior climbing with Pure Outdoor.
Location: Gogarth, Anglesey - North Wales.
The Route : A major UK classic taking a rising traverse leftwards across Wen Slab to a sensational finale where the zawn drops away below your feet. The climbing itself is not hard but the grade is well justified due to the exposure and the consequences of either the leader or the second falling off the final pitch into empty space. Carrying prussics is highly recommended.
Summary: You only have to google ‘A Dream of White Horses’ before you get an idea of the iconic nature of this route. Come experience the ‘Gogarth Grip’ when you notice yourself holding on harder than ever before as the waves crash upon the rock walls of Wen Zawn. You have abseiled into the route and must climb out, a truly committing all absorbing experience. Not for beginners, but suitable for someone who is looking at progressing in climbing and something to aim for. Possibly a good goal for the end of a climbing year or an adventure that you can build up to by attending some instructional courses. On the day you will explore some of the important rules of sea cliff climbing including route finding, abseiling, the tide, rope techniques and equipment. The history, ambience and atmosphere, which surround this adventure, make for a very memorable experience.

Prices: Standard daily rate. Please note that we will need at least 2 days climbing as preparation for a route with this serious nature.
