Keywords What are you looking for? : experienced climbers, hoist, abseil retreat, counterbalance, unconscious, traverse rescue, prussik, jammed, autobloc, mariners, accompanied abseil, y hang, anchors, etc
Outline You are 400ft. up a route on Cloggy, a party on the next route dislodge a rock and it hits your partner, knocking him off; the rope holds him but he is dazed and not able to help himself.
Would you be able to get to him?
Would you be able to get him off the cliff..quickly..safely?
Many of us, especially if we have been climbing for a long time, have probably had to rescue someone at some time or another and could, no doubt, sort out some means of dealing with the situation above. The critical things, however, are speed, safety and decision making. These are the bits where we might not be good enough.
Self rescue for climbers is a workshop for climbers new and old to get together and practice self-rescue scenarios in a controlled environment. Whether you have seen it in a book or know it in theory, it is always worthwhile getting out and practicing in the event of an accident at the crag.

Itinerary This one day workshop (and 2 day itineraries can be made available) will start with a 9am meet and we will get straight out to a local crag (single or multi pitch) and enjoy a practical worksop.
Learning Objectives We will look at simple problem solving scenarios such as stuck screwgates and gear through to single pich and multi pitchh rescue, looking at rope techniques and improvised rescue. We will go as deep into the tin of worms as the day allows!!
